Hong Kong Flower Show 2013 (香港花卉展覽)
Known for blooming, beautiful and exotic flowers, the Hong Kong Flower Show this year will be held for 10 days from March 15 till March 24 at the Victoria Park. The theme this year is the ‘Kaleidoscope of Spring’, while the theme flower is Dendrobium. The show would have on display a plethora of exclusive and exquisite flowers, and stunning flower arrangements, along with magnificent landscapes. Many other activities will also be organised during the show.
Hong Kong Sevens 2013 (香港國際七人欖球賽)
One of the biggest rugby tournaments, Hong Kong Sevens will take place from March 22 to March 24 this year, with 28 international teams participating in the event. These teams will be sweating it out on the ground to take home the coveted title. Organised by the Hong Kong Football Rugby Association, this event is a showcase event for rugby in the continent, with the best teams from the region participating in these.
Hong Kong International Film Festival 2013 (第三十七屆香港國際電影節)
The festival will begin on March 17 and will screen over 290 international films from more than 50 countries. The films will be screened across 11 venues. The 17-day long festival’s objective is to find new talent, launch new and innovative work, and showcase some of the most outstanding films of the year. This film festival is unarguably one of Asia’s most reputable festivals, and attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Hong Kong Arts Festival 2013 (香港藝術節)
Being held till the 21st of March this year, the Hong Kong Arts Festival provides a platform to outstanding talents both from the city as well as the whole of Asia. It is known to feature renowned artists in spectacular art forms. This festival hosts a series of dance, music, opera and theatre where performers of outstanding calibre showcase their talent. Works of various artists are also displayed during the festival, and people can splurge on an art piece of their choice made by these world-renowned artists.
The Asian Film Awards (亞洲電影大獎)
The awards this year will be held on March 18 and will honour filmmakers for their outstanding contribution towards Asian cinema. This event is the only one that brings together the best talents from every Asian country, along with professionals and fans from across the world. The theme this year is “An Eye on Asian Cinema.”
